A free Google Business Profile gets you on the map, in local search results, with reviews and your address and hours — and it takes half an hour to set up. It is genuinely one of the highest-value things a local business can do, and it costs nothing. So why pay for a website too?
What a Google listing cannot do
It shows a search result. It cannot show your actual work at the size it deserves, lay out your full price list, or tell your story in your own words beyond a short description field. Click through from a listing with no website behind it, and there is usually nowhere to go — just a phone number and a handful of photos Google compressed on upload.
What a website adds on top
A real gallery. Prices, if you choose to publish them. Pages that can individually rank for what you actually do — “bridal makeup Andheri West” is a page a website can have and a listing cannot. And crucially, a website is what a Google listing links to, which is part of what makes the listing itself rank higher: Google trusts a business with a real site behind its profile more than one with just a profile.
So which do you set up first?
The listing, if you have neither — it is free and fast. But do not stop there. Every one of our tiers includes getting your Google Business listing set up properly as part of the build, precisely because the two are meant to work together, not as alternatives to each other.
If you already have a listing and it is sending people to nowhere, that is exactly the gap a Starter website closes.
